So I've finally got this thing done. Huzzah. This took me alot longer than it probably should (there is also alot more research in here that no one will notice). But hey its finally done. I do think this was a fair practice peice for something abit more action oriented and let me play more with lighting sources. Anyways, this piece is now done. I can now move on to more important things, once I figure out what important things to move on to.

Prints of this (medium size still debating about any other sizes) will be for sale at Oni-Con this Halloween weekend. I will be in the Artist Alley sharing a table with friends. So look for the red head in the bowler hat and goggles (I'm going to be a steam punk mechanic for Halloween.) I'll be there with jewelry, prints, and buttons for sale.

Well slightly late art post this week. I've been busy working on other things. I can actually admit to some of it at the moment though. The rest is personal crap I'm not going to get into.

The stuff I can admit to is I am, as far as I know right now, going to be at Oni-Con 2010. I'm sharing a table with a friend of mine so I'll have limited selection of items, but I will be there. This is kinda a big deal since this is the first time I've been to or worked Oni-Con since 2005. Here's hoping time and experience makes it a better experience than the last time round.

Ok, for those of you who care The Project has more page layout updates. It is incomprehensible as per usual, but there is progress, slow slow progress. I do think I am getting the hang of this stage at least. I will be so happy when this action sequence is over. I might actually make this stuff done by my deadline of next A-kon.

Alright now on to art posty things. Have some odd emblem things I am working on for stuff I'm not going to explain yet, some of this is comic related (at least the design) some of it is future product related.
Alright, thats all for this week. I've been rather lazy, spinning my wheels, watching horrible movies, and being angry at things beyond my power.

Oh yea, I almost forgot, Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day. Y'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar

Welp, I think I'll consider this piece done. That one step towards hypothetical con prep, I'll probably set this up for printing and xeroxing tommorow when I go to buy more ink to print more buttons. YAY.

EDIT: enh I'll just throw this other piece in here I also did some concept work )

Now on to other things.

Well I am back from A-kon. The con was alright, thought the table location this year was out of the way from the main Artist Alley and from what I'd heard from some folks was they couldn't find me until the very end and didn't even know there was another section of the Artist Alley.

Though I did manage to survive, hilariously it seemed this con was bound determined to confuse me by buying out all the things that I normally don't sell too much of and ignoring the stuff that I expected to sell. But ah well, thus is life.

Though as per usual I met lots of cool people and as per usual I'm paranoid that everyone who met me is convinced I am mildly retarded. At cons my eloquence tends to wear out sometime in the middle of Saturday, after that all my people skills are running on fumes. So for the lovely people I met after that I hope no one judged me too harshly.

The trip home back from Dallas was the most eventful one I'd had in a long time. This was my first time driving myself to and from a convention, and the trip up went by more or less without a hitch.

However after getting out of Dallas on Sunday I noticed my car was starting to run hot and the engine wasn't cooling down. We hurriedly pulled off into a town and got my father the engineer on the phone. M parents came up to get me and my friend Karen, so we ended up cooling our heels in a 24 hour burger joint for 3 or 4 hours waitng for them.

The end diagnosis is Abe Sapien my beloved station wagon needed a new radiator and thermostat. My car is still being worked on at the Ford dealership in that town. My mom stayed behind to turn in the car and my dad drove me and Karen back to Spring. We were all tired, and short tempered and about ready to keel over so I ended up talking about the history of animation in general and Disney studios specifically until I got too car sick to talk.

But now I'm back home and have had some sleep under my belt and am feeling much better. Though I'm still exhausted and tomorrow or the next day we have to go back on a 3 or 4 hour trip to pick Abe up from the dealership.

In the mean time I'm mentally recharging, and hilariously enough I'm stoked to do more work. I might start hacking at the script for The Project again or just keel over again.

Sorry folks, not much of an art post this week. I'm in fact packing up the last of the stuff for A-Kon so I can leave tomorrow.

If you are in the Dallas area come on by, it should be a fun convention. I'll be upstairs in the Artist Alley look for the redhead in the bowler hat, that'll be me.

So heres a piece of what I've been working on.

See you guys on the flip side!

An early one this week before I start getting too lost in con prep.

A new Alice piece, for those of you keeping score at home the concept sketch for this was posted ages ago. I have a bad habit of having a long turn around time on pieces, kick them around, work them, rework them, before getting anything done.

This isn't done this is just the pencils on the clay board for me to watercolor and such. This is going to be fun. Hopefully

click on for more con progress! )

Tune in later same bat time, same bat channel for more convention progress. YAY.

Sorry for the slight lateness of this one. I am up to my neck in con prep. Lots of buttons to be made, inventory to be taken, supplies to account for and many many prints and such to whip into shape.

Speaking of which here's this week's art post.

Sorry that's all I got, maybe soon I'll use my graduation present and take some photos of the other stuff I've been working on.

Just finished registration. As far as I am aware I shall have a table at A-kon in Dallas this year.

So, I came back from A-kon, had to help my sick mom yesterday then I got about twelve or fourteen hours of sleep. I'm feeling much more human, though my voice is still lurking on the gravely octaves of exhaustion and talking too much.
cut for ramblings )

Foolish Mortal WILL be at A-Kon 20 this year.

This year we've got a whole new table set up, alot of new buttons designs, some new key chains and phone charms and even some new artwork.

So come on by and say hi, I'll be the red head with the bowler hat in Section C.
