So here we are, another week, another late art post, and another return visit of my long term relationship crud (the doctor thinks its viral so theres not much to be done besides ride it out). This time it piggy backed with my cramping and decided to add a slight fever. I'm doing better but yesterday was a unpleasant painful experience.

Anyways on to the artpost. Due to a slight case of art block, working on the comic related things and such its not a very big one this time.

Another Nostalgia Card - this time (a very off model) American McGee's Alice. I might give this one another shot later on, since I slipped and made her look more like MY Alice and not the American McGee's rendition. Her eyes aren't big enough me thinks.

Anyways And one more underneath the cut )

And that's all for this week. I'm now going to shower and see if my bedding is done washing.

The snow, did not materialize as predicted. Instead we had some ice and cold. Slight disappointment but I've seen snow before and lots of it, so I'm not too upset.

In other news, I've been trying something new in trying to up my productivity. I sadly do A LOT of art work on the computer, which means that if my mind wanders many many lovely distractions on the internet are just an idle click away. So instead of getting something done I find I'm five links deep into TV Tropes or discovering new strange things in Echo Bazaar.

So recently I have added an app to my copy of Chrome, called Concentrate. It works like a timer that blocks all websites I have told it are distractions that I should not be let loose on. It's only been an afternoon and evening of using it but so far it is proving useful It forces me to do something besides surf the net feeling sorry for myself. So yay, progress.

Anyways onto the Art Posts, more work was done on The Project but nothing added to the blog. I've begun getting a few pages towards the state of completion. True this will soon quit and I'll have to go back to hashing out page layouts and script edits again, but hey, I got to color stuff!

So for the Nostalgia Card update, this week its my beloved Vampire Hunter D. I've had a soft spot for this franchise since high school. Karen and I watched the hilarious 80s version more times than I think either of us care to admit, and going to see the good 2000 movie is still an awesome memory. And the books are still something I pick up for nice light reading.

But with nostalgia in mind I decided to try my hand at the 1980s version of D. I'll probably draw D again with a better design later. But until then, voila.

And progress of the Adventures of Sophie and the Robot Chess-master is here )

Anyways I'm off to shower and bed, I get to go ice skating tomorrow. I'll probably bust my ass, but hey, it will be an experience.

Alright another week, more art.

Spent this week working on taxes, con scheduling and trying to organize a few things. So not much art post this week. I did do some sketches and started a necklace but nothing really worth showing.

I did at least a few cards from the Fandoms of Stupid Years Past series. This week it's the rather painful for me to admit series of Fushigi Yugi.

This was a series that looking back on I have no idea what I saw in it. Well besides the fact that there were 4-5 attractive (sort of) male characters who were there for eye candy. The lead was vapid and stupid, her only skill was getting kidnapped and having all these guys fall in love with her. Her romantic lead was also rather boring, and the plot was hideous.

It is as an old wiser person that I suggest, that if the story of a girl getting sucked into a magical fantasy land that may or may not have ties to Folkloric China sounds like something that interests you, watch 12 Kingdoms instead. Seriously 12 Kingdoms is so much better.

That being said, here are Miaka and Tamahome, the leads of Fushigi Yugi in the only way I remember them.

And in other hopefully less stupid news, here is some progress on the Project

Welp another week, more art, more boredom.

More wonderland concept sketches. Caterpillar still not quite right, and a card guard, also needs some work.

More art and a new side project explained under the cut )

Also more page layouts on The Project - I think I'm sort of getting the hang of this.
