So Halloween is fast approaching so here's some creepy/funny/weird links I'm going to pass on from various internet wanderings.
Ten Writers That Probably Will Haunt You - Oh, you've got the Gregory Maguire poltergeist! See, this is a ghost who jinxes your favorite childhood books and makes everything have weird sex.
Creepy 1700s sculptures - Passed onto me from my sister. Supposedly the artist in question made these (damn awesome) to protect himself from evil spirits. I can almost believe that.
Obscura Antiques and Oddities - A curiosity shop in New York City. You want tiny polio braces, false teeth, government property emergency water, skulls and taxidermied critters of dubious origins? Of course you do.
Selina Sedilia - Dare I reveal to him that I have two legitimate and three natural children? Dare I repeat to him the history of my youth? Dare I confess that at the age of seven I poisoned my sister, by putting verdigris in her cream-tarts,--that I threw my cousin from a swing at the age of twelve? - A favorite gothic short story of mine, it has everything; murder, ghosts, secret marriages, and horrible accidents.
While not really Halloween-y I am currently obsessed and must share the ear worm The Mariners Revenge Song by the Decemberists - I'm going to excuse it for not being in the Halloween mood due to the fact it starts off with two guys in the belly of a whale.
