Ah yes, for convention news:

We will be sharing room with Fireball.

Karen has recently been in a car accident, she is fine though her car is most likely totaled. So there is a strong chance she won't be joining us.

So I saw the Revenge of the Sith. It had some good bits, had some clunky bits, and some shiny bits. I enjoyed it more then the rest of the new trilogy.

I hated Anakin who Palpatine played like a 50 cent whore. Padame was so naive you'd swear she hadn't spent most of her life involved in politics. Obi Wan, Yoda, and the Wookees, were the only ones in the entire galaxy with any sense.

Sat through the movie with Karen and we snarked our way through it, amusingly enough no one got mad at us the people sitting near us were snarking and giggling through everything too.

There were points where the dialouge was bad, and points where it was just over the top and out of place. Silence and glass shattering and such would have been better and make more sense.

I must say I now have some inspiration of some scribbles to do, so thats good. My love for Star Wars Tales is returning to the point I'm debating about picking them up myself. George Lucas has a tin ear for dialouge and decent character names, but he made a cool universe to play in.

Sadly though, I'm now getting nostalgic for my Dune books again. Those took prophesies of messiahs, psychic powers, love, political plotting and manipulation to its finest points ever in sci-fi. In my humble opinion of course, I read those books when I was a freshman in high school and the littlest thing makes me go wax nostalgic about them.
