Alright folks, its time for me to take score and see how personally I did at the promises I made myself a year ago.

Last year I had four whole resolutions, since I'm conservative even in self improvement.

1 - once a week I will do an art post on live journal and dev art, these must be out of school work...[rules and explanations]...

Well this one I did okay on during the semester, I in fact enjoyed the weekly scramble of sketchbook sorting and midnight runs to the computer labs to scan the artwork. But once I graduated things started to slip. And in November they almost dropped off entirely. Though the original intention of this was to keep myself from being buried in school work and burning out. So the spirit of this one was kept though I did get really lazy.

2 - Redesign and update Foolish Mortal before graduation in May. I tend to try to do this before con season but with my final semester closing in I have the feeling that if I dont do it before class ends I'll forget it all together. Also addendum: fix the live journal to match.

This one DID happen, the website got redesigned THREE times I think by the end. Though that was partially because it became a portfolio project. Though the journal never did get the redesign. So...win? Kind of.

3 - Get the comic projects settled. Get chapter one of SOMETHING up and running online. I've got two I'm sort of pushing around but not getting to a conclusion....

Ah yes...this one pertained to two projects I was kicking around. One was an Alice in Wonderland comic, and the other was The Project. I did end up in the end dropping the Alice comic after a few designs and page layouts and became rather obsessed with The Project which ballooned and became an ever constant job of researching, world building, character design and background building. So I at least settled for WHAT I was going to work on, regardless of the fact that none of it has surfaced to the public yet. So fail on this one.

4- Do more than one convention this year.

Barely squeaked by but this one did happen. Only by the grace of God and help of friends.

Ok now for this years resolutions:

1 - Post art once a week. No rules to this one like last time, just post something, once a week.

2 - Find a job

3 - Set up and get the etsy shop running

4 - Redesign website

5 - Work more cons

6- Get The Project public.

7 - Design a calendar, sell greeting cards etc. Expand products and market

Welp now back to work for me.

So it's now 2011, well technically it has been for a day or so. I was just too tired from my New Years Eve festivities to wax philosophically. Plus I've glanced back and realized that my New Years post is rarely actually on New Years. So no worry about breaking with tradition.

2010 marked the year I finally graduated from college, such as it was. It only took me six years but I did finally get my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. And then I became an official unemployed bum. This I'm not holding against the year.

2010 was also a strange in the sense that no hurricane came to darken our door. This is worth mentioning due to the past 4-5 years or so it seems theres always been at least one hurricane or flood in our area.

So 2010 was okay by me but I personally could do a lot better. Here's hoping I get my act together and 2011 is better.
