Yeah, I don't *generally* do them, either, but there was a great article last year about how those games manage to become hugely popular because they actually run on obligation rather than fun and so I recognize the signs.
(The ones I do get into on Facebook are the ones that offer fun, as well, and minimize the "Come back in 4 hours and bring your friends, or else." aspect.)
