Well this is Monday, er Tuesday of Spring Break. Went prom dress shopping and ended up buying a dress, its not what I immediately imagined wearing but I think it will work out nicely.

Its maroon with an overlaying layer of some black transparent-ish fabric with all this nifty embroidery and beading all over. It looks kinda like that red dress from that movie Titanic.[Please note, I hated Titanic I loathed that movie but I really liked the wardrobe] Either way its got this nice vintage feel to it thats what I was going for.

For those of you who are unaware, I shall be out of town on Thursday thru Sunday. My mom and I will be visiting my sister.

whee, I'm working to contain my glee

Anyways, you're saying 'but you're a young girl at the beggining of spring break, you've got your major formal shopping torture over with, you're even going on a road trip, what reason do you have to be all mopey?'

my two page purpose for the application for Savanah College of Art and Design. I need to get the first draft of it done soon so I can send it off to MCAD and SCAD and all sorts of other fun places so I can get on with my life. But I've been straining over this thing for ages. Since like January I've been straining over this thing. Two pages of why the heck I want to draw pictures for a living. WOOT, this is fun, for a follow up I'm going to sit here and jab my fingers into my eye sockets. WHEE MARVELOUS!! Now I'm going to light my head on fire as an encore.

I'm staying up [with out any caffiene] until I get this draft done. Then I'm going to post it and mail it to people who are accustomed to editing my horrble sleep blurred writing. To cope, I'm currently caterwauling the lyrics of Oingo Boingo and Rocky Horror.

My Purpose

For as long as I can remember I have always been driven to draw, to create, to tell stories. I’ve also spent a good bit of time in my life trying to find ways to express myself and my ideas. Overtime I’ve narrowed the options down to my art and writing.

Over time I’ve worked to improve my skills to the point I could successfully communicate what I wanted to say. I drew and experimented independently with various mediums and styles.
But I also feel that one needs to learn the basics of traditional art as well as pursue ones own style. As such I’ve taken quite a few art classes through my school. In those classes I’ve learned basic drawing, painting, and digital media and on the side I’m learning photography.

My art work has been entered in the Texas Visual Art Scholastic Event for the past two years. The first year one of my pieces placed in the highest level and another piece was one point shy of also being in that level. This year both pieces I entered placed in the highest level and one is going to be entered in the state competition. I’ve also fulfilled all my school’s requirements to letter in art.

Outside of school assignments I practice and work to improve my skills and my range of mediums and styles by drawing and painting every free moment I can at home.

For the past three years I have been working on an off and on web-comic. I also design and maintain an online art gallery of my art work. Currently I am working on writing and illustrating a fantasy story. I also have many more ideas that I’m working on.

For my future after high school I’ve come to the conclusion that I would like to try to do what I love for a living. I feel that I would be suited to work in the animation field or in illustration, or even in sequential art. I’m a practical soul and don’t want to narrow my field down and thus lose other opportunities for employment.

Now despite all the work I’ve invested in honing my skill this far, I’ve reached a barrier. I can’t accomplish what I want to alone. I hunger for more training, more lessons, training to prepare for the work place, and the chance to meet and hang around other people with similar interests to me.
I’ve spent lots of time comparing information of lots of schools. The good reputation of your school and your curriculum interest me. I would consider myself very honored and fortunate to be accepted into your school so that I may continue on my quest to have my work express my ideas that much more clearly.

there, the first draft, I shall send it to grammar acceptable people tommorow but right now my bed is softly offering its sot comfortable embrace.
