Madeline L'Engle apparently died yesterday.

I loved some of her books, got bored through others but I respected her ability. My favorite book of hers would probably have to be Many Waters, which was the only one I bothered to buy and reread over and over. I think it was the fact she managed to combine biblical characters and theology and make it fascinating.

Which was greatly appreciated by me, who was 13 and going through Lutheran confirmation where I was pretty much convinced that to be a 'good' christian was to be boring and lose all creative spark.

So Godspeed Madeline L'Engle. Hope you find the great beyond as fascinating as your books were to me.

On the LJ layout front; I like this layout abit better than the previous one. I like the seperate content square thing than the all one block effect. In an effort to make my art site and my blog mesh to create a condusive whole I'm curently using the same background as my art site. I tried using the same text colors as the art site but for some reason it looked really bad to me here. So fifteen different color combinations later I decided to go on a limb and try something more reddish. I like to think it works alright, but knowing me tommorow I'll have changed it again.

Work was slow when my supervisor was there and busy as hell when he left. There is something about 8:30 at night that makes people realize they have stuff to copy, print, laminate etc. At least most people are sympathetic when they realize that there is like ten of them and only one me in the copy center.

Upon arrival home I discovered that a long awaited package from Amazon arrived. Though instead of being my Art History textbook like expected, Amazon saw fit to mail me a combat manual for Navy Seals. Somehow I find this par the course for my luck. I'm fairly certain I'm like the physical embodiment of Murphy's Law.

Years from now people will perform experiments on me to learn important facts about luck and new fields of study will open. And then upon being offered large sums of money to be observed my luck will completely change for the better and I'll be left alone and broke.
