Aw...the smell of capitalism
Nov. 12th, 2003 05:47 pmThe Barnes and Noble Christmas catalog is one of the most evil things I've run across. It's worse then going to the big art store downtown.
I mean a whole catalog full of stuff...and its on sale...and discounted for people like my family who go there way too much for our own good.
The problem is I tend to like the light fluffy things...keep your Charles Dickens...Pride and Prejiduce will become a doorstop. Indeed even the special boxed set of Harry Potter will be cast aside.
No instead I want stuff like;
-Amphigory Also- an Anthology of the work and art of one of my idols, Edward Gorey
-A collection of Addams Family comic strips (or cartoons? what the hell do you call them? Their not moving so I don't call them cartoons yet they're one paneled so they aren't really sequential... ah well)
-The National Geographic book of photos from their archives, I mean just the cover photo alone is worth the money.
- and,The coolest pop-up book ever . I've run across this book before, flipping through it just makes me want to go out and...illustrate something.
oh yeah...does anyone know if the Series of Unfortunate Events is any good? I'm curious.
