Dec. 23rd, 2003 10:16 pmWell many thanks to Lacy for the cd, I'm enjoying it quite a bit, sorry I didn't wait for Christmas to open it.
Many apologies to Valentina, I saw the big fancy art exhibit in the Art Mueseum, the 'Heroic Centry:Masters of Modern Art' featuring Starry Night, Salvador Dali, Magritte, Jackson Pollac, Kandenski, Monet's Waterlillies and more Picasso then you can shake a stick at. Oh yeah and a big stuffed floor display resembling choclate cake.
Well lets see...the main thing I loved about this show was the fact that these were the originals, and you could see all the brushstrokes.
Starry Night was great though I couldn't really get a good look at it since there was a crowd around it. So I instead wandered over to his 'Olive Trees' and immensely enjoyed staring at that, Van Gogh really swirled the paint on his work.
I also really loved this one painting by an artist called Carlo Carra this painting but a whole lot bigger. But the mueseum store had diddly for it or the artist.
Towards the end some of the stuff got kinda repetative and redundant, like Jackson Pollak's stuff in general and every single damn painted white canvas, black canvas, sliver of orange canvas. (there were 2 white canvases, and 1 of the rest mentioned)
Anyways long story short, sorry Valentina my sis, brother in law and father randomly on the spur of the moment deceided to do this. Forgive me (cry face)
After that we wandered around the art muesum in general and discovered the art mueseum had a lot more stuff then I thought, like a whole top floor of old masters, no real big names but amazing work anyway. Then went to the photo store and art store to pick up a few things, then home again to wrap presents. I'll probably post something in a bt to explain that, but first I'm getting in my pajamas, its getting cold in my room.
