lissa_quonThe storm turned quite a bit so we got only bad thunderstorm conditions around here. Damage here is minimal, the power had been out for a few days and we have alot of shaken up tree branches.
Though fuel is at a premium right now so all sorts of extraneous trips are canceled. I suspect that alot of errands shall be trailed together more often. At least until the gas prices go down.
Staying at my sis' was fun, though there were set backs. Mainly it was too crowded for me to be left alone to get any work done. And sleeping in the air mattress in the middle of the living floor wasn't too much fun, with everyone walking through it at all hours to have a panic attack, or get a glass of water or to chat with someone in the kitchen.
But over all there was lots of bonding, craziness, and much planning to get me the hell outta this area and into college at a real college. My sis also paid for my Oni Con pre registration since the deadline was so close I feared mom wouldn't even remember it.
I also finally got my paisley Cthulu plushie and my game of Ninja Burger, which was as hilarious and fun as advertised.
Also played a couple games of Arkham Horror, never got to the end but got pretty damn close the second time. My first character was some spoiled flapper girl who managed to kci some ass and seal some gates. Though she kept getting sucked into Ry'leh and tripping and slipping on rocks, which sucked. My second character got lots of good loot so she was f-ing lethal monster killing wise and had lots of re roll abilities which kicked ass. Great fun game, it's just damn expensive and is a bit more enjoyable if one has more than passing knowledge of Lovecraft.
The house power is on, the water is back on, waterheater lit, fridge empty, plastic drapes off furniture, cats out of boxes and harnesses and the air conditioner is starting to get things livable again. I'm now waiting for my turn in the shower.
Plus there are rolling blackouts in the area where my work place is.
I don't think I'll be working tommorow.
