Belated Thoughts of 2007

I'm hoping 2008 will be better than 2007.
I started 2007 with a bit of optimism that sunk like a lead balloon.
I dropped out of OU and ended up migrating back home for purely legit reasons, I just feel like I failed somehow. The Visual Communication thing was a pretty big flop and left me feeling rather useless. I'm still feeling rather worried that I might never accomplish a degree in my desired field.
I'm even more ashamed of this fact, that I've allowed myself to be shaken for so long for such a stupid thing.
Currently I'm enrolled for the spring semester at a local college. I'm hoping once again to get into a design program and am hoping the initial warm fuzzies I got from this school when I visited were right.
I also happen to have an Associate of Arts degree now, which isn't much but it's something at least.
Financially I've been working for a whole year now with gradually increasing work conditions and pay. I've gone from selling underwear to old ladies (which I hated), to serving food to spoiled college kids (which I didn't hate too much) to my current job working at a print shop inside an office store (which I tend not to hate)
Not much but hey, when your first job was a Phone Interviewer you can only go up from there.
The 'being on speaking terms' thing with my estranged grandfather wrapped up and he visited us this Christmas. It was still awkward, but he was nice.
While some good things happened in 2007 I still don't think of 2007 as a good time. I'm hoping 2008 is better.
